Troubleshooting

No Water?

  • Check meter, has it been turned off?
  • Check with your neighbours/other residents. Perhaps there are temporary works within the complex.
  • Call your water company to ensure it hasn't been turned off in the street.

No Hot Water?

  • Check with your water company water hasn't been switched off in the street or your gas company if the unit is gas.
  • Check the unit itself, if it's an electric instantaneous and showing an error code, troubleshoot with an instruction manual, also try switching the HWS mains switch off for a few minutes and back on again to see if this resets.
  • If an outdoor unit, is water coming out of the unit? If so a plumber is required, if it's an electric system and no water is coming out of it then chances are an electrician is needed, if gas then generally a plumber is required.

No Gas?

  • Is there gas to the property? Is the meter turned on?
  • Check to see if other gas appliances in the property are working
  • Check for error codes on appliances, and refer to appliance manuals for assistance.
  • If the issue cannot be resolved with the above advice, contact your gas provider for assistance.

Power Outage/No Power to Appliances?

  • Check your switchboard/fuse box and safety switches.
  • Check to see if there are power outages in your area - Check here
  • Reset all appliances to see if the power failure was just a temporary surge.
  • Check and reset all safety switches and circuit breakers

Garage Door Not Working?

  • Check if the motor has power, is there a light on the motor? If not check the isolator switch to see if that needs resetting
  • Check to see if the remote batteries need replacing and if not try reprogramming the remote/s
  • If the above don't resolve the issue then try manually opening the garage door using the emergency release cord. Please only attempt to manually lift the door if you are capable of doing so.
  • Check the manual that came with the garage door for further instructions.

Air-conditioning/Heating Not Working?

  • Have you switched it on correctly and have you allowed enough time for it to start working?
  • Try resetting the power by turning the power off for 5 minutes and then turning it back on to see if this resolves the issue.
  • Check your user manual for trouble-shooting guide
  • Check all filters are clean. Dirty filters can cause the unit to stop working.

Blocked Drains/Toilets etc

  • Try using a plunger to unblock the drain. Ensure you seal the overflow in the basin/sink before plunging
  • Try pouring hot water with detergent down the drain to clear a blockage
  • Try using a commercially available drain cleaner (e.g. Draino). Please use caution when using drain cleaners as they can be harmful. Please always wear protective clothing.
  • If the drain is external, ensure that the drain grate is clear of leaves and debris

Smoke Alarm Beeping

  • Replace the battery. Most smoke alarms will stop beeping once a new battery is inserted.
  • Check the date on the back of the alarm. If the alarm is older than 10 years, it may need replacing

Leaking Taps/Showerheads/Toilets etc

  • Try tightening all connections.
  • Check the condition of all washers and O-rings. You may need to replace them if they look worn/damaged.
  • Check the condition of the tap or showerhead. It may need replacing if it has deteriorated.
  • Check your user manual if you have one, it may provide further instructions on troubleshooting.

Burst Pipe

  • Turn off the main water supply to the property to prevent further damage. This is usually located at the front of the property or in a meter box.
  • Call a plumber immediately to fix the pipe.

Lights/Power Points Not Working

  • Check your switchboard/fuse box and safety switches.
  • Check for power outages in your area.
  • Reset all appliances to see if the power failure was just a temporary surge.
  • Check and reset all safety switches and circuit breakers

TV/Foxtel/Internet Issues

  • Check if all cables are plugged in securely and in the correct ports
  • Check that all remote control batteries are working
  • Refer to your user manual/s for instructions
